Build a bridge mediation

Solve disputes simply

Mediating disputes to reduce conflict so that your past does not have to also become your future.

Finding yourself, or your loved ones, in the midst of significant conflict results in enormous cost - financially in legal and court costs; emotionally in terms of stress and pressure; and even physically, often causing serious negative effects on people, their families and their futures.

Build A Bridge Mediation advocates that mediation can be a more effective way to solve your disputes, resulting in superior outcomes. So your past can become just that - your past! If you are ready for a better future, where you can spend time and money on your health, family, well-being, and self-esteem, then investigate using mediation to settle your disputes simply!

Mediation is a process facilitated by an independent third party trained in specialised communication and negotiation techniques. These techniques are designed to help people in dispute to understand the issues, facilitate improved communication, build mutual understanding, accept differences, explore interests, negotiate outcomes and, where possible, reach agreement.

Build A Bridge Mediation utilises facilitation mediation techniques to assist parties in dispute to make decisions about future actions and outcomes. The process is voluntary, participant-centered, confidential and involves a structured negotiation process where a dispute is resolved in a way that is acceptable to all.

Our mediators have their fingers on the pulse of modern technology and media, and have monitored their evolution to inform our own mediation approaches—all to give you exceptional assistance that will last for years to come. Headquartered in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Build A Bridge Mediation represents clients throughout Australia. Our mediators use face-to-face meetings, as well as virtual meetings, using Skype, Zoom or FaceTime, thus allowing us to assist clients across the country.

We bring extensive experience and professionalism to every mediation case and customise our processes to your individual needs and concerns. For example, shuttle and/or virtual (online) mediation may be suitable for disputing parties not wanting to meet in person or who are separated by distance.

Our firm specialises in all mediation OTHER than family law. We are particularly interested in rural debt and finance matters, but are experienced in a wide range of matters including:

  • neighbourhood disputes involving fences, noise, children, pets and overhanging trees

  • some tenancy and strata disputes

  • property damage, some involving insurance claims

  • family and intergenerational disputes, particularly involving wills and moving into aged care accommodation

  • workplace disputes including owed wages and benefits, workcover claims

  • commercial disputes, particularly unpaid debts, consumer/trader issues and disagreements over work done

  • rural farm debt mediation and finance disputes

  • multi-party disputes, sometimes involving whole communities; and

  • other civil disputes.
